Ensure control in order management
Saviola is a packaging dairy for the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, which required a system to digitize the traceability of the wide range of products it produces and packages, with the goal of validating a model that can be extended to all consortium members.
The need was to eliminate manual paper records to achieve an objective and accurate "Balance" by comparing the input, the forms, with the output, the packaged product, but also the waste and scrap;
It was necessary to implement a low-cost and rapid implementation solution that managed the operational complexities.

The Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, as the sponsor of the project, has guided us in understanding the production dynamics with the aim of digitalizing and making the production processes traceable in real time: from slicing the Parmesan to packaging the grated product.

Solution
The monitoring system
The system consists of tablet applications on-board and office management portals, with intuitive interfaces tailored to different roles, which allow managing the production flow and monitoring progress.
Through dashboards, it is possible to monitor real-time process KPIs and automatically generate reports simply and effectively for producers and the consortium.
Order creation
The operators take care of the orders and create "Work" groups: by scanning the QR Codes of the raw material, the system automatically checks the consistency of the serial number and aging, preventing errors at the source.
Traceability of raw materials
The system creates a unique traceability code on each package and during production, the software tracks the weighing of the bins by integrating with counting devices and scales for real-time monitoring.
Production control
With the scanners, the reading of the identification codes in the product warehouse to be processed is carried out, creating automated reports on the supply chain.
Packaging control
The cutting and portioning operations of the products are carried out and the scraps are digitally recorded, to "redirect" pieces to other lines and reassociating the "residues" to new active orders.
Shipment tracking
All data converges into a dashboard that automatically calculates the mass balance and the percentage of volatile, providing live statistics and compliant reporting for the Consortium.
